C.J.
McGehee, 13, who gets around on his hands and knees after losing the
use of his legs, checks out his new refrigerator - which came
pre-stocked with all his favorite foods.
C.J. and his
mother Sandra - who has multiple scleoris and is on disability - were
soon to be homeless after the condo they rented was sold, and Orlando's
expensive rental market left them unable to find another home.
After
a newspaper article appeared telling the family's story, offers of
support poured in. Readers donated about $5,000. Wayne Gill paid for
the family's move. A Maitland woman, who did not want to be identified,
planned to sell her Casselberry home, but instead gave it to the
McGehees, for whatever rent they could afford.
