A crowd on the roof of a parking garage at UCF watches the launch of the space shuttle Discovery from Kennedy Space Center, about 40 miles east of the campus.  Two and a half years after the Columbia disaster, the space shuttle Discovery launched from pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005. The next launch has been postponed indefinitely, so it looks like this was the last launch for a while.   I wasn't assigned to shoot this,  but I couldn't let an event like this go by without doing something. Plus, I had to earn my hat.
